Why do I need a medical?
All forklift drivers require a certificate of medical fitness signed by a Doctor showing that you reach the required medical standard to drive lifters. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) indicates that forklift drivers should have a medical to group 2 driver standards using the DVLA D4 medical guidelines.

Be Safe on Site
Although there is no law that says forklift drivers must have a medical before driving lifters, all responsible employers now require a medical certificate before letting their staff behind the wheel of a forklift.
The rising number of employers who now require workers to undergo a medical examination before driving a forklift is due to an increase in regulations and a need for all workers on site to be physically and mentally fit.
Our Doctors will provide you with a thorough examination and a certificate of medical fitness signed and dated showing you reach the medical standard required, which is accepted by all employers. Your medical examination will involve:
When you complete your examination our Doctor will provide you with your certificate of medical fitness (subject to the outcome of the medical) valid from the date you pass your medical examination, as well as indicate how long it is valid for which depends on our Doctor’s findings during the medical.
